Chapter

2008
Social Hour: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Keynote Speaker: 2:00 PM – 2:30
PM
Omni Interlocken Resort, 500
Interlocken Blvd., Broomfield
Topic:
"Solar
Generation"
Key Note Speaker: Mark Simmons,
Vibrant Solar, Inc.
Mark Simmons is
the Marketing & Sales Director of Vibrant Solar, Inc. Mark
has been in marketing and sales for 35 years but only joined
the solar industry in March 2007.
The third employee of
Vibrant Solar back then, he now manages 13 sales
representatives for the company of the 38 staff.
Mark’s
current workday includes organizing the opening of Vibrant
Solar offices in Grand Junction, Summit County and Los
Angeles, to go with Denver, Fort Collins and Carbondale
operations.
In the evenings Mark delivers educational seminars about the economics of
solar. Mark says it’s been incredibly challenging to triple in
size each year - and this is before the solar boom
gets going in earnest.
During the three
years since Colorado’s Amendment 37 passed, mandating power
company rebates on solar electric systems, the local solar
industry has taken off. There are now over 150 companies
installing systems in Colorado– most very small operations. A
couple of locally owned companies have become major players,
while some national companies have moved into this ripe
market.
This is an opportunity to join together and meet
the members of our organization in a casual social
environment. The cash bar will open at 12:30 PM and appetizers
will be served. Coffee and dessert will be provided following
the keynote speaker.
